Polimeric networks, cytoskeleton

Recent evidence suggests that the known bacterial cytoskeletal proteins are part of a complex cytoskeletal network that includes many unidentified components. We strive to identify and characterize new cytoskeletal proteins and to discover small molecules that target both known and novel cytoskeletal elements in bacteria. We hope to gain basic understanding of bacterial cytoskeleton, and to work towards the development of new antibiotic drugs. Our groups task within this program is to study the structure, dynamics, and function of cytoskeletal proteins in vitro and in vivo.
